Dara Cantor, MAcOM, LAc, Dipl OM

I am passionate about helping my patients reach a greater level of vitality, whether that be recovering from an injury, improving digestion, or managing a chronic condition. I take a whole-person approach to healthcare, treating body, mind, and spirit, and utilize therapies uniquely tailored to each individual, focusing on the person rather than the disease. These therapies include the arts of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, as well as nutritional and lifestyle counseling. I have a general practice, with special interests in women’s health, sports medicine, and chronic or recalcitrant conditions.

My interest in traditional Chinese medicine grew out of a background in ecology and wilderness conservation, as well as a long-standing curiosity about health and wellness. I am continually inspired by the philosophies of traditional medicines, which are grounded in our connection with the natural world and the importance of living in harmony with our environment.

I graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in 2013, earning a four-year Masters degree and becoming a Licensed Acupuncturist and Diplomate of Oriental Medicine later that year. In addition to my schooling, I worked for 4.5 years in OCOM’s Department of Research in East Asian Medicine, where I had the opportunity to expand upon the modern evidence base for this ancient system of healing. Outside of work, I continue to enjoy an active lifestyle, including many outdoors adventures as well as the quieter practices of yoga, tai ji, and meditation.
