I was born in Malaysia after my parents immigrated from China. As a child I had only a few visits to Western medical clinics but had plenty of visits to Chinese herbalists.
I came to America to study and later worked as a software engineer at several university hospitals. My childhood experience in Asia as well as my education and work experience here has instilled in me an appreciation for both Western and Eastern medicines. My long-held interest in plants and herbal medicine eventually led me to get my Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, followed by a five-week externship at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in China.
In my practice, I like to combine the diagnostic principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine, TCM, with an understanding of the basic anatomy and physiology from western medicine. I use simple and non-invasive TCM treatment modalities (Acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, massage, herbs) to help restore physical and mental balance.
