Brynn brings more than thirty years of working in the health care field to her acupuncture practice. She began her healthcare career working as a radiology (x-ray) technologist for fifteen years at one of the larger hospitals in the Portland area. She spent a number of those years specializing in surgical radiology, working extensively with orthopedic and neurosurgeons. Brynn later went back to school, receiving her Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from OCOM in 2001, and is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Degree program at OCOM which she'll graduate from in 2016. She incorporates her knowledge of the body from both a biomedical and Oriental medicine perspective, bringing a holistic approach to her work. Brynn sees patients for many different health concerns, but specializes in pain including post-operative pain, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal issues. She also addresses migraines/headaches, women’s health concerns, insomnia, anxiety, stress-related issues, as well as chronic conditions such as IBS and other digestive irregularities. In addition to utilizing traditional Chinese Medicine treatment methods such as acupuncture, cupping, and herbal therapies, Brynn brings additional training in specialized muscular work to her practice including Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) therapy as well as trigger point and motor point therapy. MPS therapy is very effective in addressing smaller areas that tend to be difficult and/or painful to treat with acupuncture needles alone including the TMJ/jaw area, the feet, wrists, arthritic joints, as well as scar tissue and adhesions. Brynn is also certified in Cosmetic Acupuncture, offering facial acupuncture treatments to those who want a more subtle approach to achieving a more youthful appearance.
